Beth opened Believe In Birth in 2001, a year after the birth of her first child. At first, she became a Certified Childbirth Educator, through BirthWorks, and an accredited La Leche League Leader, because she wanted to empower women to find their own voices and to understand their choices in both childbirth and mothering. In 2002, Beth began assisting women as a doula, and was trained by ALACE and certified by DONA. She then decided, that her path was to become a Professional Midwife. She completed Art of Midwifery classes in Media, Pennsylvania and then went on to apprentice for two and a half years with the well loved and well known Midwifery Traditions practice. This was the key requirement of her training through the North American Registry of Midwives' Portfolio Evaluation Program and she
received her CPM credential in 2008.
Today, Beth continues to teach at Yoga Child and privately. She is a doula trainer and mentor for Birth Arts International (BAI) and holds trainings in Philadelphia several times a year.
Beth has published many articles on birth and parenting in Midwifery Today, Natural Life, Life Learning, The Mother, Natural Child, Hot Mom's Club, and the Philadelphia Inquirer.
She lives with her husband and three young children in the Germantown section of Philadelphia.
